Countertops vary significantly in weight, attachment method and demolition difficulty.

Removing a backsplash can damage the drywall or substrate behind it. The amount of damage depends on the adhesive, material and installation method.

Utilities and Trade Requirements

Kitchen demolition may involve electrical, plumbing and gas systems.

Before our crew begins:

• Gas appliances must be professionally disconnected.
• Gas lines must be capped and made safe.
• Plumbing must be shut off and disconnected.
• Water lines must be capped.
• Hardwired appliances must be electrically disconnected.
• Circuits inside the demolition area must be identified and made safe.
• Required permits and approvals must be obtained.

A licensed gas fitter, electrician or plumber may be required. Trash B Gone performs demolition and debris removal, not regulated trade work, unless separately arranged through qualified providers.

Preparing for Kitchen Demolition

Before the scheduled demolition:
